Install
Use InboxDays on your devices
Install the web app today for mailto links in your browser. Join the waitlist for a small desktop agent that routes system email links (Word, Finder, Windows Share) into InboxDays compose.
Install the app (PWA) — available now
InboxDays runs in your browser and can be installed like a native app. Sign in first, then install from the address bar or browser menu.
Chrome or Edge (desktop)
- Go to app.inboxdays.com/app and sign in.
- Click the Install icon in the address bar (or menu → Install InboxDays…).
- Launch from your applications menu or dock — it opens in its own window.
Safari (iPhone / iPad)
- Open app.inboxdays.com/app in Safari and sign in.
- Tap Share → Add to Home Screen.
Android (Chrome)
- Open the site in Chrome, sign in, then tap menu → Install app or Add to Home screen.
Default email links (mailto:) — available now
After installing the PWA, you can register InboxDays to open mailto: links from websites and web apps in compose (recipient, subject, and body pre-filled).
Chrome
- Install the PWA (steps above).
- Open Settings → Privacy and security → Site settings → Handlers (or search “protocol handlers” in Settings).
- Find InboxDays and allow it to handle mailto links — or accept the prompt when it appears after install.
- Test: click a mail link on any site — compose should open in InboxDays.
Limitation. Desktop apps like Microsoft Word use the system default mail client, not the browser PWA. That is what the desktop handoff agent below will address.
Desktop mail handoff — coming soon
A lightweight signed utility for macOS, Windows, and Linux that registers as your system mailto: handler and opens InboxDays compose in your browser — including paths toward sharing Word documents and other files into compose.
- macOS: small Swift helper (best integration with System Settings)
- Windows & Linux: Tauri tray app (same behaviour, one codebase)
- Privacy-first: routes links only — no mail proxy or background scanning
